John's Journal... Entry 26 - Day 4

click to enlargeGREG MILLER AND DAN MASSIMILLO AND THEIR DEER

Greg Miller, an outdoor writer from Wisconsin, and Dan Massimillo with Bear and Jennings Archery, a part of the North American Archery Group in Gainesville, Florida, both hunted hard for these bucks.

click to enlargeQUESTION: What happened on this trip?

ANSWER: We had the same problem with these deer that we had in northeast Montana. We had seen these bucks in a different field. We hadn't pressured these deer. What made this hunt so unusual was that both these bucks were taken from the same field in the same afternoon. The field was big enough so that two bowhunters could hunt in the same area. Greg and Dan both got to see each other kill these deer within 30 minutes of one another.

ANSWER: Both were in the 120's -- scoring about 123 to 125 points.
