Atlanta native Dave Sharp now resides in Birmingham and is a senior editor and webmaster for Night Hawk Publications. He is also a copyeditor and webmaster at the Birmingham Post-Herald. In addition to his responsibilities at Night Hawk, he provides weekly Internet content for Hunter's Specialties and Trebark, leaders in Outdoor sporting.

He graduated from Jacksonville State University, in Jacksonville, Alabama, with a BA in Communication and specializations in print journalism and new media. His minor was English with a concentration in American and British literature.

He completed a double internship at Southern Living where he wrote several outdoors and travel stories, which first appeared in the February 2001 issue.

For most of his college career, he was involved with JSU's official student-run, weekly newspaper, The Chanticleer, ascending to the position of Editor in Chief. He was also the chief designer of the publication.

After his tenure as Editor in Chief, he was asked by the Communication Department to serve as the Online Editor to the university's student media web sites while he completed his internship at Southern Living.
