Other Places To Hunt Hogs In Florida To stay tuned-up with your bow and keep your bowhunting skills at their sharpest, hunt wild hogs on one of Florida's Special-Opportunity Hog Hunts at a state WMA where you can camp. These hog hunts have a 69% success rate for hunters who hunt at least two days. You can go to the website www.state.fl.us/fwc or call one of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) offices at (850) 265-3676; (352) 732-1225; (941) 648-3203; and (561) 625-5122 for more information. You must apply by June 15, 2000, for your permit for next year. * 20,858-acre Fort Drum WMA holds three hunts each year of three days each for hogs with no size or bag limit for a cost of $50 per hunter. * 7,317-acre Triple N Ranch WMA holds four hunts each year for two days each for wild hogs with no size limit and a bag limit of two hogs per day at a cost of $100 per hunter. * 34,335-acre Green Swamp WMA West Unit holds three gun hunts for hogs and deer each year and two gun hunts for hogs only, with one of those a dog hunt. Two-hundred hunters can take part in the still hunt, while 100 hunters can hunt on the dog hunt for hogs. Three days hunting will cost each hunter $75, and each hunter can bag two hogs per permit. * 8,676-acre Lake Panasoffkee WMA holds eight archery hunts for hogs and deer each year, and two, three-day gun hunts for hogs only where hunters can take two hogs per permit. One of the hog-only hunts allows dog hunting. Each hunt consists of three days for a cost of $75 per hunter. * 9,000-acre Kissimmee River WMA Hickory Hammock Unit holds two hog hunts each year with no size or bag limit for two days each at a cost of $100 per hunter.
